These products are prepared using both the freeze drying and dehydration methods. This reduces the weight and prolongs shelf life, and locks in all of the nutrients needed to keep an active body fueled and ready for the next adventure. Your safety is a priority and all of the meat products have a daily inspection process performed by a USDA inspector. Although shelf life varies, most items will stay fresh for about two years; items including nuts, seeds, or dairy last slightly less time. If you are not planning to use these products right away, it is recommended that you store them below room temperature. It is not recommended to keep this food for long-term storage. Backpackers Pantry has a very sophisticated pouch on the market and serving sizes that are 20 - 30% larger than the competition.
